There are first class golf courses totalling 5 altogether, with Vila Sol only 10
minutes away.

Quarteira
This is a local Portuguese seaside town adjacent to Vilamoura, with local shops,
a superb fresh fish, fruit & vegetable market open every day. Wednesday hosts the
local gypsy market and the small traders fruit, veg etc. Quarteira has excellent
local fish restaurants. The beach front promenade is a great place for families
during the summer months. Always plenty going on and most of it is closed to traffic.
So your first stop should be the Five Star office to get all the information you
need for a super holiday!
With a car or by taxi, you can visit the towns close by – Loule, Quarteira, Faro
etc. There are two big shopping centres, one in Faro (Forum Shopping) and one just
before Guia (Algarve Shopping). Both of these centres have cinemas showing all the
latest films in English. Algarve Shopping has a bowling alley.
Loule
Loule is a Portuguese market town with local shops as well as several big supermarkets.
It also has a traditional fruit and fish market open every day. Saturday hosts the
local gipsy market which is full of stalls selling local crafts, products, souvenirs
etc.
Faro
Worth a visit the central area is very pretty with a harbour, enter the old city
walls and keep a look out for the stork on top of the cathedral. Pedestrian shopping
area and many restaurants and coffee shops.
Quinta Do Lago
Lakeside Village – walks by Ria Formosa. Signed walk near to the Lake and Restaurant,
alongside the edge of the river with the S Lourenco golf course on your left which
continues on to a bird hide and eventually to the area of salt pans. There is a
wooden bridge which takes you across the river to the beach, sand dunes and a restaurant.
S. Lourenco Church
On the EN125 from the crossroads towards Faro this most beautiful church stand up
on a hill on your left. Inside it is decorated with hand made blue tiles. Just beside
the church is the Cultural Centre – many interesting art exhibitions are held here.
